Definition: Denouement (French: the action of untying) is the series of events that follow the plot's climax. It is the conclusion or resolution of the story.
Also Known As: Resolution
Examples: The denouement or resolution of Charles Dickens' "Great Expectations" is Pip and Estella's marriage.
