Neil Gaiman Biography:
Neil Gaiman was born on November 10, 1960 in Portchester, England and currently resides in the United States, near Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He is the author of the novels Neverwhere (1996), originally a six-part BBC Television series, Stardust (1999), Coraline (2002), American Gods (2001), Anansi Boys (2005), and Good Omens (1990), a comic novel co-written with Terry Pratchett; the Sandman (1988-1996) series of comics as well as other comics; Don't Panic: The Official Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Companion (1988) ; many short stories, several childrens' books, and a number of screenplays.
Gaiman is one of the first authors to embrace internet culture and now boasts a web blog that rivals many commercial web sites with the number of visitors he gets. As of this writing, Neil Gaiman's blog is ranked number 61 out of Technorati's top 100 blogs on the web, as measured by the number of links to it.
MirrorMask, a film project he worked on with Dave McKean has received great reviews at the Sundance and is being released 9.30.2005; Beowulf, for which Gaiman wrote the script, is in the process of being filmed by Robert Zemeckis; and the film version of Good Omens directed by Terry Gilliam is back in the works.
