NYTBR: "Get With the Program"
In yesterday's NYTBR essay (June 10, 2007), Rachel Donadio explores the use of technology by novelists: Richard Powers uses Microsoft OneNote to map character interaction; Vikram chandra similarly uses Microsoft Project; and Marisha Pessl famously used Excel spreadsheets to structure Special Topics in Calamity Physics, which she worked on surreptitiously at her finance job. Mostly, I come out of the article coveting tools like the Logitch io2 pen (used by Chandra).
