Though I don't live in New York, I really like Underground New York Public Library, a photo blog featuring - in the tradition of André Kertész - photos of people reading books on the New York subway. There's just something comforting, in an age when most everyone seems to be staring into their mobile devices, about seeing people enjoying actual books... en masse.
People reading is similar blog, just on the West coast.
