When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris
David Sedaris can be and has been side-splittingly funny. He is, without a doubt, one of my most favorite writers ever, and I like nothing better than happening upon his signature nasally voice on NPR's This American Life, or finding a new piece of his in a magazine, usually The New Yorker.
When You Are Engulfed in Flames, while no Me Talk Pretty One Day, exhibits in fits and starts some of the same cleverly self-deprecating humor that has made the author a household name and has fans lining up outside of auditoriums to preview him reading his latest sardonic essays.
