The Tournament of Books

Wednesday March 5, 2008

The Morning News officially announced the judges today for the 2008 Tournament of Books.

Sponsored by Powells.com, the Tournament of Books takes 16 of the year's best books and "pits them against one another in an NCAA-style Battle Royale of literary excellence." The book that rises to the top of the batch is awarded The Rooster, an award named in honor of the David Sedaris essay, "You Can't Kill the Rooster."

You can download the NCAA-style bracket for The Tournament of Books, and if your friends won't wager with you, you can place your bets at Coudal’s Making Book betting window (all money goes towards new books for underprivileged kids). Furthermore, Powells.com is offering a 30% discount on all Tournament of Books titles. So start reading, and get those office pools going!
