The Best of the Booker

Thursday February 21, 2008

In the 2008 celebration of the Booker Prize's 40th birthday, the public will be invited to help choose The Best of the Booker. The Best of the Booker will be awarded to the best novel to have won the prize since it was first awarded in 1969. Forty-one novels are eligible (there were two winners in both 1974 and 1992). After the list becomes narrowed to a six book shortlist, the public will help choose the winner, and the prize will be announced in July.

Yann Martel's Life of Pi is getting 4 to 1 odds as the favorite to win The Best of the Booker by bookmakers. Read more at www.themanbookerprize.com.
