Cathy's Book: If Found Call 650-266-8233

Monday October 2, 2006

It was only a matter of time before publishers figured out how to meld the the appeal of internet gaming and online social networking with books. Enter Cathy's Book.

Cathy's Book: If Found Call 650-266-8233 is about a teenage girl whose life goes from difficult to worse when her best friend becomes angry with her and her boyfriend Victor, who may not be the boy he appears to be, breaks up with her.

This young adult mystery was crafted with an interactive marketing eye. Not only does Cathy's Book have its own website (there are actually two), the characters from Cathy's Book have their own phone numbers; there is a Cathy's Book MySpace page; there are Cathy's Book AIM Journal pages; and more. In other words, online marketing for teens meets book publishing.

After all this effort, lets hope the book is worth it.

I have never read a YA book, but this seems interesting. What I like most is the marketing gymics the publisher is using. Someone I know is publishing one with HarperCollins and I forwarded this to her. Maybe About can do a review of it. That would be absolutely wonderful. She is friend, an ex-creative writing professor of mine. I hope to hear back from someone with some sort of chizpa…hahahaha – Cheers to all though. LEM.

your book was amaezing! i hope you come out with another one. you lead me to think one thing was true but then there was something else thaat didn’t make scence so i would have to think of something else. untill the end when eveything fit together and made everything clear to me. my friends all want to read your book now that i’ve told them about it. i was woundering are the phone numbers real? i mean i’ve been tempted to call them but forget or never have time too. well any ways i loved your book!

Basically I saw my friend reading this book and using the clues and such and thought that this was the most fasinating thing I had ever seen. I went right out and bought a copy, it is incredible. It lets the reader interact with the characters and is just so much fun!
