Free Book Friday!

Friday October 7, 2005

In the tradition of great literary bloggers (read: MoorishGirl), I'd like to begin a tradition of book giveaways that will occur regularly and on Friday. Thus the name. And what better time, I ask you, to kick off said book release spree than at the outset of National Book Month?

Free Book Friday is sponsored today by the Continuum Studies in Literary Genre, giving us Horror Fiction, An Introduction, a great little paperback which provides the reader with an introductory study of Horror Fiction: it's definition, timeline of the genre, major movements, terms, criticism, etc...

Be the first to correctly answer the question: Who is acknowledged as the creator of the Horror genre (as well as the Crime Fiction genre)? Email your answer to contemporarylit@about.com along with your mailing address.

Update: Jamin G. from St. Louis, MO was the first the answer correctly that it was Edgar Allen Poe.
