Harry Potter and the Internet Gambling Affair

Thursday May 26, 2005
With Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince due out in July, fans are betting on which of the key characters dies in the novel - literally betting.

According to a BBC report, internet betting on which protagonist dies began last year when J.K. Rowling confirmed that one of the main characters wouldn't make it through the novel, but was suspended on Tuesday when a suspicious number of bets on Albus Dumbledore came in from the town of Bungay in Suffolk, England, where the book is purportedly scheduled to be printed.

Persons interested in betting on the Harry Potter characters can get the odds at www.bluesq.com.
