The International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award is the world's largest literary prize, awarding £100,000 for a single work of fiction. Nominations are made by public libraries in major cities around the world, making the IMPAC Dublin Award the most internationally relevant prizes in literature.
Among the shortlisted titles this year are The Great Fire by Shirley Hazzard, The Fortress of Solitude by Jonathan Lethem, and The Known World by Edward P. Jones. The complete shortlist can be viewed here. The winner will be announced June 15, 2005.
