National Novel Writing Month - 50,000 Words or Bust

It's a simple idea. Write a novel in exactly one month. Simple, but by no means easy.

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) has grown from its humble 1999 beginnings as a sick and twisted venture among 21 friends to a sprawling international obsession for tens of thousands of would-be novelists. November is NaNoWriMo, and so we're smack dab in the middle of the frenzy.

Despite the bone-crushing pressure they're under (50,000 words by November 30), six NaNoWriMo novelists took time away from their laptops and their carpal tunnel syndrom to give me this insider's view.
