Inkheart by Cornelia Funke

Monday March 15, 2004
She started out as an illustrator, but is now the internationally acclaimed author of over 40 books. She's been called the German J.K. Rowling - author, Cornelia Funke, is best known in the U.S. for her best-selling novel, The Thief Lord and in 2003 gave us Inkheart, which puts a magical twist on an individual's enchantment with books.

One night Meggie's father, Mo, reads aloud from a book called INKHEART, and an evil ruler named Capricorn escapes the boundaries of fiction and lands in their living room. Suddenly, Meggie is smack in the middle of the kind of adventure she has only read about in books.
