Amazon.com's Search Inside

Tuesday November 11, 2003
If you're like me, Amazon.com is already an indespensible tool for seeking out information about books. They've gone about 100 steps further than that by recently introducing the ability for a user to search for a key word, name, or phrase inside the pages of over 120,000 titles. Let me say that again... you can search inside the books! Granted, 120,000 books is nowhere close to the world's collected litery works, but... wow! This is such a huge step in the availability of such information, that the ways in which it will be used is yet unfathomable.
