Jimmy Carter Debuts First Novel

Monday August 18, 2003
He's a former president of the United States, still thoroughly immersed in world affairs. He builds houses for humanity, and in his spare time manages to write a novel about the Revolutionary War.

The Hornet's Nest, due out in November from Simon & Schuster will be the first novel by a former U.S. President. How does Jimmy Carter do it?

"I can write for hours every day. I write rapidly. I don't mess around with it."

Jeez... and he did the cover art, too.
